​Khachapuri Kino Club #72 presenteert film- en documentairemaker Sonia Herman Dolz tijdens een avond die begint met een uitgebreide Georgische maaltijd met wijn en tafelheer. Daarna volgt een programma met korte films.

Sonia zal een VPRO ‘Diogenes’ uitzending Overgave tonen die zij in Peru maakte over voormalige strijders van Lichtend Pad. Op het programma verder een videoclip die zij voor The Golden Earring maakte, een bijzondere film over de Tafel van de Idee in Scheveningen, een film over de Kooi van Joep van Lieshout, Rotterdam seen through a bubble (1988) en andere verrassingen! De avond wordt ondersteund met live muziek door Terts Brinkhoff, directeur van De Parade, op accordeon!

Sonia HERMAN DOLZ (1962, Madrid), dochter van een Spaanse moeder en Tsjechisch/Peruaanse vader, werd aan de Haagse Vrije Academie geschoold door Frans Zwartjes. Haar documentaire Lágrimas negras was een grote internationale hit in 1997. Er zijn verschillende retrospectieven aan Herman Dolz' werk gewijd, door het International Film Festival Sevilla in 2005, Documenta Madrid in 2007 en Independent Film Festival Barcelona in 2008. Haar Conducting Boijmans ging tijdens IFFR 2015 in wereldpremière.

Sonia Herman Dolz will show a VPRO ‘Diogenes’ documentary she produced in Peru about former fighters Shining Path (Sendero Luminoso). Also been shown will be a videoclip for The Golden Earring, a special film about the Tafel van de Idee in Scheveningen, a film about the Joep van Lieshouts' Cage, Rotterdam seen through a bubble (1988) and other surprises! Terts Brinkhoff, chief of the De Parade, will support the evening with live music on accordeon!

Sonia Herman Dolz (born 1962 in Madrid) is a Dutch film director, screenwriter and documentary filmmaker, who gained international fame in 1993 with her documentary 'Romance de Valentía' about the Spanish bullfighting which was awarded at several European film festivals. Her film Lagrimas Negras (1997) about the Cuban old timers band Vieja Trova Santiaguera, won multiple awards, and anticipated Wim Wenders' Buena Vista Social Club (1999). Sonia's subsequant documentaries include The Master and His Pupil about the Russian conductor Valery Gergiev, and filmic portraits of the Dutch folk singer Frédérique Spigt, and Sonia's mother, artist Dora Dolz.

Sonia's work is distinguished several times among others with the Golden Calf Special Jury Prize in 1998; as the best documentary at the Golden Prague Festival 2003; as best documentary at the Bergen International Film Festival in 2004; and with the Pendrecht Culture Prize in 2007 in Rotterdam. Her Conducting Boijmans had its world premiere in IFFR 2015.
