MY NAME IS …

Een vrouw dwaalt door een grote stad op zoek naar haar geliefde, een vluchteling. Een brief brengt haar op het spoor van een in de Tweede Wereldoorlog verdwenen Joods meisje.

MY NAME IS … vertelt een verhaal van alle tijden: dat van mensen die huis en haard verlaten en een veilig onderkomen zoeken in een ander land. Met verhalen van toen en nu uit Syrische en Joodse culturen, geïnspireerd door de laatste schilderijen van Else Berg and Mommie Schwarz.

Het concert is ondergedompeld in een mysterieuze, coole jazzsetting, met veel onderhuidse spanning.

A narrative concert

Wandering through a big city a woman searches for her lover, a refugee. A letter places her on the trail of a disappeared Jewish girl in World War II.

MY NAME IS ... tells a story of all times: of people leaving their homes and seeking refuge in other countries. With stories from the past and the present, from Jewish and Syrian cultures, inspired by the last paintings of Else Berg and Mommie Schwarz.

The concert is immersed in a mysterious, cool jazzy setting, with lots of underlying tension.
